I mean she was clearly being sarcastic but I know Americans (because let’s be serious it’s mostly just Americans who are annoyed at this) struggle with understanding other people’s humour, especially British people.

Her primary genre is Pc Music / HYPERPOP which were pioneered by predominantly white queer british indie musicians in the mid 2010s as a response to the rise of Electropop and Bubblegum Pop at the beginning of the decade. 
 

AG Cook, Hannah Diamond, SOPHIE, QT… that’s where her music has sat for the last 10 years really. So they’re massively wrong even if she was serious (which she isn’t- listening to Rock Music alone should tell anyone that)

lol funny given she is heavily influenced by brat era in many of the visuals and style seen so far for Confessions 2. Relax people, charli said it leading up to her new “rock” sound. She locks herself in a persona each time just like Madge.
