Why would she think mentioning it in a song is the same as releasing it?

Because this is Gaga we are talking about, the same woman who said back in 2011 that Living On The Radio would be released one day, that ARTPOP would have a released second act, that Scheibe would be a single and said her songs were about multiple/different things in different interviews like when she said that Alejandro was the fear of men monster and then the fear of sex monster from TFM.:trollga: After a while you start to adjust your expectations and live in reality.

I.. had not heard the rumour

But no that song is dead and gone. It's about an ancient relationship that she moved on from YEARS ago and likely doesn't even have an official recording. Would you release a song you wrote 14 years ago about one of your exes? When you're currently engaged to someone else and living a completely different life? It's kinda weird to expect

I'm confused isn't Princess Die about Gaga's depressing inner thoughts and feelings and about Princess Diana? I never thought it was about one of her relationships.

You're right I was on some sh.it when I wrote this idk :laughga: I think I started out talking about Princess Die, walked away, came back, and started talking about Brooklyn Nights. I'm losing my mind

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I don't think it's smart to release anything that portrays suicide ideation. Suicide can be stimulated in people with the smallest wording. I myself don't listen to Princess Die cause I start to imagine things... that song should be kept laid low.

Nah, I think the idea of ever releasing it left the building years ago. Gaga and/or Interscope didn't put it on ARTPOP and I don't think she'd have put or tried to put it on any later album either. I mean, just how explicit it was can't have helped her nor all other people going through similar feelings. Having a nod to it in a very fan-beloved song (Perfect Celebrity) was just that, a nod that fit perfectly and could be read in more ways than one, so it didn't only HAVE to be an obscure reference to past work she never finalized in a studio setting to perfectly fit PC. She maybe referenced it because it was part of her journey that she maybe struggles with having performed - remember, PC is sorting through her feelings of her history as a musician and grappling with the consequences of incredible global fame but also with the balance of her own actions.

So no, I really think we're past that one and have been for a looong time. I don't think she'd want it to be released even.

Oh P.S. Princess Die is about her suicidal thoughts. "wrapped in silks made for Egyptian queens, I'll do it in the swimming pool so everybody sees" is about wrapping herself in her Egyptian cotton sheets and diving in the pool to drown where everyone will find her (and I guess see what they've done to her as a tortured celebrity. Give the people what they want' kinda mindset). "bleach out all the dark I'll swallow each peroxide shot" is a play on words about bleaching her hair blonde, but also drinking bleach to die. And obviously "I wish that I was strong, I wish that I was wrong, I wish that I could cope, but I took pills and left a note"

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Will never get why some fans are so attached to a song from 14 years ago that if it were to be released within a studio version it would probably fell off as not-that-great-mostly-mid 🫪 Nostalgia I guess but other than that... Move on
