Starmie25 22,574
I think going Independent will be the best solution going forward.

Least she'll be able to release the music that she wants without any constrict.
Mirrion Rizzons 12,684
I understand her point about how releases aren’t ubiquitous anymore and that artists have to rely on social media. BUT what I don’t agree on is that her fans are unaware of her album release. The algorithm is smart and tailored for people - her fans will know the album is coming. The problem is, she probably thinks she has more fans than she actually does

She'll always have industry connections even as an independent entity. Raye, Tinashe, Jessie J, Alicia Keys are just a few who are independent, however they still have opportunities for festivals, touring, collabs and such. ThisGuyTony 34,939
All her songs sound like they came off the same album tho. No artistic growth the past decade.
tylerjs 6,093
Well yea I mean nothing she’s released lately is very good, eventually the label is gonna say f*ck it 🇨🇺🇧🇸 “It’s one banana, how much could it cost? $10?”
VanishIntoMe 3,973
The algorithm can indeed make or break an album, but SO CAN THE MUSIC. If the music is amazing, it's gonna break through if you're as established as Lizzo. Look at smaller artists like Olivia Dean and Raye who have really broken through in the past years; it's because of the art, not the marketing. Amazing art will finds it's way to people. 3 1
thatfoxyfeeling 13,401
Offtt her lead single Don't Make Me Love U was released a month ago and it hasn't cracked a million views on YouTube.
Borislshere 53,665
The digital world has gotten so ****ed up, the algorithm changes far more rapidly than it used to. It’s constantly trying to figure out what we like while not allowing us time to start to like anything. It’s a fight against the current so I can’t imagine how helpless she feels. Her label lowkey shelving her is nasty work but 1
Lucas 31,129
I can't name a single song from her. I know she has at least 1 hit song, but can the algorithm and label really be blamed for people not buying her music? Maybe she just doesn't have a dedicated fanbase who'll buy everything she puts out
