Oh yeah. The MJ Estate is estimated to be worth about $3.5 billion last time I checked. MJ's catalogue alone was valued at $1.5 billion a couple years ago. Sony gets a chunk from his streams and music sales (and therefore the biopic) 'cause they bought half his personal shares in his catalogue two years ago for $600 million. They also bought back his shares in Sony ATV for $750 million. So, basically all money generated by Michael's work is split 50/50 between Sony and the estate. The money the estate makes (besides operational costs) is split as follows: 40% to Katherine, 40% to Prince, Paris, and Bigi, 20% to various children's charities. I think I saw that Katherine gets like $200k a month from the MJ Estate I'm personally a little confused about the ownership of the estate itself 'cause Katherine took them to court in 2024 to stop them from selling half of MJ's catalogue to Sony. I believe Paris was also adamantly against that. So, even though they're financial beneficiaries it seems they don't really have a say over any of his properties or rights.
