Not surprised tbh. I read PartySick's review of the movie. I wasn't planning on watching it but my boyfriend was excited to go and so we went. I didn't really like how polished it was, but the music... absolutely inescapable since I saw it. I can't stop listening to Thriller. So yeah, I was never a fan and here I am at 32 discovering MJ properly

Girl...I'm scrolling TikTok and my god the love that gen z is showing him is literally healing something inside of me  

The memes are immaculate but knowing a whole new generation of fans sees him as a real person, to the point that his home videos are getting millions of views and an endless outpouring of love and adoration from people who may not have even been alive at the same time as him...god, idk

I'm gonna have my issues with the narrative of the sequel but bitch if Dangerous gets half the love that Thriller and Bad are getting right now I will levitate for weeks 'cause that's my favorite musical project of all time

It’s been really interesting to see the younger fans coming through. I watched a YouTube video about it and basically said that he is the ultimate pop star who made the best pop music, everything about him and his output is timeless, and still relevant, because it’s supreme. He was right that great music never dies. We also live in an age now where social media, for better or worse, has the bigger influence than mainstream media so more people will be able to see right through the bs that they are still pushing about him (don’t get me started on the rotten tomatoes score, so very predictable )
