When I was growing up, I never thought I'd reach a point where I'd be like we actually factually need to go back... Average life affordability in the developed world went from Homer Simpson factory worker being able to provide for his family to being able to afford decades long mortgages only with 2 high education-career people working hard... Like I genuinely don't know how we'd be able to have a kid and juggle our careers at the same time without being able to afford a stay at home nanny... But also the so called baby-boom coincided with the first generation of post-world war 2 babies to hit maturity. And they were the first adult generation to be truly "post-war" in the sense that they didnt serve or experience war and grew up and reached maturity *after* the recovery period. It was just after WWII, vets were coming home to a prosperous nation where the working class had all the power and a high school education with a minimum wage job could support a family of four in the suburbs. The people making money off of us are trying to sell us a future where men live at their jobs in order to support the women without their autonomy or birth control at home raising a constant flow of offspring to feed back into the factory and start the cycle again.
