Stuff like this is always performative to make you think that they’re on your side because they also need your money. Not saying this is what gaga is doing but many celebs will pretend to care about amazons exploitation and then go on to do it themselves

Honestly i dont care either way. I find the excessive cancelling of artists or celebs who associate with something that may in turn be somewhat associated with someone else who is deemed problematic for X Y and Z very rediculous as the involvement with that person starts to become very indirect at best

 

I find celebs pertending to care in a super calculating way (when most dont) just to avoid negative PR or to appear woke and enlightned even more toxic than the excessive cancelling in the first place so at this im face palming at both the audience and the celebs alike.

 

Can everyone stop being so artificial and moraly arrogant? The Met Gala has always been a hangout club for the ellite. That is nothing new. Does it really make a difference if the involved people are rich celebrities who make too much money with exploitive concert ticket prices or whether its a business man who is exploitive in other ways?

 

Theres always problematic people at an event like this. Bezos is just more high profile. Dont whatch if Ellite society bothers u (I dont like ellite society either). But be consistent at least. In principal this is not that different from every other dam year

shes promoted euphoria, the drama, and soon the odyssey and spider man. Shes wise to skip a singular red carpet that due to her reputation requires a LOT of work to execute well. I can’t speak to the others but her not going makes a lot of sense

Of course theres differences. To me in principal the difference is that huge tho. Both groups wanna get as rich as their circumstances allow and benefit from a system that allows huge discrepancy

 

While i have distaste for the gap in general, i think cheering an event for the top 0.1% but then making a stink when its the top 0.01% is kinda... what?????

Bezos and Trump had a turbulent relationship til 2024. Amazon was bad then but Jeff Bezos didn’t fully support Trump back then.
