This has got to be the biggest self-own ever. She's made Easter eggs and breadcrumbing her entire marketing gimmick. This is the same woman who's obsessed over the number 13 and finds an excuse to put it in everything, releases things on the anniversary of significant times in her life and makes sister songs/albums. Her personal lore goes deep, her fans love it and she knows it. And clearly also loves it. I'm sure she once said that she enjoyed how her fans have fun guessing who some tracks are about. Now she has the audacity to act like this isn't what she wanted her fans to do? Her assertion that "the guy didn't write it, I did" is bizarre as that's clearly what no one was ever suggesting, they're pointing out that they can connect certain lyrics with certain things she's publicly said and done with exes and how she's referencing it, they literally are talking about how she wrote it. But hey, Taylor's been making odd choices ever since Travis d**ktimised her. I don't pay any mind to her statements and never have.

She’s clearly trying to control her image before she gets married I feel, she’s made a living off of being the “young crazy ex gf who will write songs about you” even leaning into it in some of her song lyrics and referencing it during award show speeches. infantilizing herself despite the fact she’s almost the same age as Gaga and Katy Perry and has been in the music industry even longer than them.

But what can we expect from a person who rereleased her most successful albums (which is the entire reason she’s so successful now btw) before she conveniently bought her masters back before she had to put out rereleases of her least interesting albums with the least interesting subjects and lyricism.
