I can't take them seriously since they come from a survival show and they're just an attempt at making a western version of kpop groups. This group is pure business and marketing, no art

I think that they definitely have a potential and some of their music is definitely a vibe BUT: the vocals are there, the instrumentals are there, the visuals are there, the choreo is there... the lyrics are not there  and that is my biggest issue with them. Therefore I wish their label would either get them better lyricists or just let the girls write their music

I actually 100% agree. But kpop groups have the korean thing going for them, the foreign charm if you know what I mean, going on those fun variety shows etc... while with Katseye (and their reportedly dumb songs) I just can't take them seriously at all, idk how to explain, since Hybe is just trying to replicate the success of kpop groups but in the western markets with random girls from a survival show, it just feels even less authentic and more manufactured
