I think leading a vegan diet would be more attractive to people if it wasn’t for the attitude of some VEGANS  

This is why I can agree and make choices that align with veganism without having to label myself or pass judgment on others.

But that’s just my opinion.

We all participate in unethical behaviors willing or unwillingly every day. 

If you participate in capitalism you are participating in the exploitation of people around the world. 

Not everyone has the resources or education to make “ethical” dietary choices. People around the world are different. 

Veganism is something that is currently not accessible to all people. You can’t expect humanity to overhaul its diet instantly. Food is culture, survival, and nutrition. 

It’s totally possible to change behavior and culture but not by blaming the whole world for not doing something that isn’t readily available to them. 

Everyone agrees on this - so it’s unclear why it needs to be repeated constantly.

If your only option to survive is animal products then of course you can eat animals! There are hundreds of millions in poverty, many of these people would likely be eating vegetarian/vegan diets due to a scarcity of meat. 

it is simply dishonest to pretend that Billie Eilish or anyone in this thread is referring to survival situations when making the claim that it is contradictory to hold the position that you love animals while choosing to participate in an industry that tortures and kills them.  Everybody knows that Billie Eilish is not talking about those in survival situations. 

That’s not being dismissive of global poverty it’s just not relevant to what anyone is discussing. The only reason it’s being brought up is to argue against a straw man argument that hasn’t been made.

Y’all can keep squabbling over whether it’s ethical or possible for a person in poverty to be vegan though.

I fully agree. There's not enough good quality and no quasi-religious resources out there for adapting to a vegan diet. 

Like I'm a decent cook, I enjoy cooking. But veganism requires changing so many important tools of cooking that I wouldn’t know where to start with some of it.

And that's before the autistic aversion to certain foodstuffs and textures
