Better: Runway SONG or Runway MV?

Sometimes a GREAT song gets a not so great MV (The Edge of Glory, for example) and sometimes a not so great song, gets an amazing MV (Telephone, tbh)

of course, sometimes an awful song gets an awful MV (TDD) and sometimes an amazing song gets an amazing MV (Abracadabra)

so when it comes to Runway- which is better? The song? Or the MV?  Are both equally amazing? Are both equally awful? 

 

imo, I’d have to say the MV is better than the song.

I’ve been saying this since it first dropped when I was in high school…arguably one of her most beautiful and poetic works.

The lighting is beautiful, the setting is perfect as an homage to both her love of musical theatre (RENT reference) and her roots in NYC, the archive Versace, impeccable styling + makeup, her turning in an excellent, joyful performance, and the video also serving as a beautiful homage to Clemens + the full circle impact of being on the “Edge of Glory” in terms of performing alongside an icon of yours and the feeling of being on top of the world for her as one of the biggest pop stars in the world at that time? She’s taking it, I fear.
