I'm kinda shocked so many LM have been so negative/unsupportive of RUNWAY, the song is pure camp fun and no matter what you think of it, why are we not showing up for Gaga like Swifties show up for Taylor no matter what?

Let's give this song a big push after that amazing music video!

I think most of us have reached an age and level of maturity where we don't force ourselves to stream a song if we don't want to. If a song is meant to be a hit, it'll top charts on its own

I was surprised by the negative reception too

the fanbase begged for dark pop but didn't support Disease and now they're trashing Runway, a light fun bop, cus it's not as deep or artistic as Abracadabra

if she ever released Act II, it would be a sh*tshow, mother knows what she's doing keeping that shii guarded

mother, what must i do?

There’s a large thread on this site of people bragging about how they hadn’t listened to the song….. so it’s definitely not that.

I mean for one, I see a lot of support, at least yesterday the thread for the music video was buzzing and everybody loved it for the most part.
Second there's the trend of not understanding what critique is.. people can not like something for certain reasons but still appreciate a greater picture. For example TS produced genuin dog scheiBe for years now, but I still appreciate her using her billions she earned of little children to change the greater picture in the music industry, at least for the artists that are privileged enough to do the same.
And lastly, I agree with Lucas, a lot of LMs are grown up and in their 30s now and still love her with the same passion as when we were teens, but life is living and there's little value in random view and chart numbers 💖

I was confused too since many have been BEGGING for ACT II styled music for centuries now.

:poot:

Sadly they're all bark, no bite.

Hell we wouldn't even have "Bloody Mary" resurgence if it wasn't for that user on tiktok who wasn't even an actual Gaga fan.

DESTROY UR DISEASE

I mean I'd love Gaga to be as succesful streamwise as Taylor, but at the same time I wouldn't really want her to top the charts every time she releases anything, no matter whether it's great, good or just ok :Cautious:

Why do fans think we have to blindly support everything an artist does? It’s ART. It’s all subjective. If fans aren’t flocking to it, they just aren’t. That doesn’t change how you, lady Gaga or Doechi feel about the song. Go support what you genuinely like.

I always say, if you enjoy it. Then enjoy it.

Don't live or die by chart metrics.

If I cared about the charts for all my favourite acts, I'd be dead like some of them are on the charts lol

Horny Chicken

The music video is absolutely gobsmacking stunning but the song is just alright. It’s not something I could listen to all the time.

If she could work with the same stylist team again in the future that would be a dream come true.

Well it really is lacking that “GAGA” energy and it’s proven by the production and song writing credits. The song lacks some of her signature flavour, structure and doesn’t have any earworm hooks. It really isn’t catered for us but for the general audiences just like The Dead Dance.

Gaga is the only artist where my favourite songs grow on me after several listens. Songs are pop but filled with a lot of texture and depth and plays with cool melodies that I think fans ears are trained to love. Her best songs are jammed pack with hook after hook but Runway and The Dead Dance feel empty compared to her entire discography.

So when a song lacks that “GAGA” energy, it feels so boring. The entirety of Chromatica is 10000 times better than Runway.

It’s simple. if I like a song, I stream it. If I don’t like a song, I don’t stream it.
