Two people making out isn’t a “sex tape,” like it or not, teenagers drinking is pretty normal, teens exploring boundaries and making messy decisions (to and including cheating) isn’t particularly uncommon either, and calling peers sending videos of peers making out “child ****ography” is totally disingenuous framing. Expecting moral perfection from people whose brains aren’t fully formed is neither realistic nor especially healthy and if we’re looking at the hierarchy of transgressions teens could engage in, this registers more like a Mean Girls style blow up of a friend group than it does an elaborate sex crime (which is how you seem to want to frame it).

And it's kinda concerning to normalize drinking at 12 yo. I know ppl that regret absolutely having been through some experiences too early in their lives. I mean I like Zara but let’s not normalize stuffs like that. 

 

I think maybe it is mentioned just to kinda like bring awareness that it happens/it was what she did... unless she was talking about it in a fun way that seemed to encourage it (idk, I didnt watch any video and tbh I don't know who this is haha I only read whats in this thread).

But I think of other artists who have maybe disclosed/discussed time periods they were not in their prime, and I think its a topic that sometimes just comes up sometimes but doesn't really mean they are trying to normalize it.

I mean, tbh, this was a standard teenage experience in southern CA. Were they the smartest decisions? No! But we were 16 and dumb. However, the blame falls on the parents who allowed the parties to happen and even partied with my friends, soooo 

The only real scandal of this is the recording of the kissing and distribution of the video without consent, but unfortunately, people were still doing that in 2011 at my high school. Obviously morally wrong, but not worth the pearl clutching, imo.

No, just an average Orange County high school experience LMAO. The way how this isn't even the craziest story from my high school either...there was even a whole tumblr dedicated to "exposing" teenagers who were drunk and partied. Some of the teachers at my high school attended these parties too. I was too much of a "good kid" to do anything until the second semester of my senior year though

Yeah but she said that most of the ppl in Europe start to drink at 13yo, which is false and normalize this in a way. I remember that these people were a small frange of many different tweens.

And when someone say "Yeah it’s the norm to do this, at this age" it’s not encouraging but inconsciously you begin to believe that it is the norm.

I don’t think we should cut the freedom of teens to discover themselves... But discovering ourselves has nothing to do with drinking alcohol or having s*x because of social pressure and mimetism. It’s very capitalistic and materialistic. Stuffs that I have read about the way Epstein was a close friend of a certain Les Wexner, an influencial man behind the teenage mall culture really changed my povs on how teens are these ppl’s preys... Having a sexuality is natural, but going into it just because our culture encourage it isn’t. Drinking alcohol destroyed the lives of some ppl I knew.

The thing is that my 12-13 yo sis, cousins and their friends litteraly appreciate pop girls. That’s why I'm turning a little into a Karen... Even for Sabrina Carpenter, I get why a 17yo or an adult appreciate her songs. But a tweenager, no.
