I fear not her best investment :deadbanana:

I liked it, but not 8 million dollars liked it.

for me it was messy, sounded a bit off since it was 4 tracks mashed in one video, with Minecraft, the sun guy and the housewives that didn't even pretend to fake play the instruments :rockstar:

Well, at least we can’t say she didn’t try to salvage the era

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

It's her top 5 music video and she served her best look in this video.

I think this is part of why she's super capitalistic nowadays, it must be pretty traumatizing

I bet she was absolutely crushed when it flopped everywhere. Imagine investing this much money into something for it to do nothing. Let’s be honest, outside of Monsters no one moved when this dropped.

I think she fully expected it, but she wanted to give us another video cause DWUW ended up not having one

its pop culture. perfect for ARTPOP wdym taint

because it was done wrong, they're just awkwardly there for a couple of seconds and it's really distracting

meanwhile she actually pulls it off really well at the end of the video by having the housewives as her teammates, blends in sooo much better to have them be part of the plot alongside her

mother, what must i do?

It’s less surprising than Applause being worth $1.5M :ladyhaha: You’d think it cost $2k at most

Say whatever you want about the song itself (👀) …but I think it’s fair to say that the MV sucks a rather girthy d!ck

Tbh I think in desperation of not getting to do everything she wanted to do with ARTPOP, she just tried to cram as many of her ideas as possible into the video for one last big ARTPOP hurrah, and it just became a mess.

Shame rly cuz the location is awesome and she looked incredible. There was so much potential. Had the video been designed and planned out better and maybe got a good director involved it could've been great.

Yeah, this is exactly it and I honestly think this sums up a lot of the chaos of the ARTPOP era. Part of the excitement, at the time, was her firmly planting her freak flag in the ground and saying “this is who I am, you can’t tell me what to do/who to be and I’m not going anywhere,” but the problem was that the way that the logistics unfolded made the expression of that pretty much as chaotic as it could be, which imo, is why I don’t think a lot of ARTPOP has really withstood the test of time.

Perfectly put. 100%

Tbh it all seemed very up in the air and 'last-minute panic' from the get go. The fact she only had a week to plan her Applause Music Video because no one could decide what the lead single was...

and regardless of the song and director - the DWUW video looked very undeveloped and last minute..

Obviously her manager leaving and the album under performing was the main issue, but I rly think the ARTPOP era needed a very experienced and tasteful co-creative director of some kind to help Gaga hone in on her ideas and develop them better idk.

Since when are we hating on the G.U.Y. music video??

Is everyone okay? It’s one of the best things she’s ever done. :triggered: Also, complaining about “the housewives” and “Minecraft”, listen to half the tracks on ARTPOP and tell me how those choices are soooo unexpected

Next in line: Did you know that The Fame Monster is actually overrated?
