It could be cool and I could see her fitting into it. But I think it’s arrogant to say the dance floor is dead when this was the groundwork for the pop explosion of the years to follow immediately after most popularly by Gaga. The thing with Charli is I think she think she’s more transgressive than she is when really she hears what’s happening already and runs to it. With Ga, she made the music she wanted to and basically said “I’ll wait.” I wish Charli would do that more bc I think that’s part of what made brat such a special era and HIFN

Very much thus  :applause:

And to your point, the dance floor is never dead … just beautysleeping in a trance … but/and it has always remained a cultural battlefield as preeminent soundstage … so, we’ll see how the expressed punk pivot performs … the pop sonic landscape is feeling friction catalytic

Am I kinda the only one who cannot imagine miss Charlotte in rock? :ladyhaha: like I love her music but I can't imagine how her vocal style will be to a rock instrumental?

I foresee she’s going back to the Khia asylum, as they say. As much as y’all like to claim Brat was this huge thing, I think the average person is completely unaware of it and her OST didn’t really go anywhere. I think “rock” is probably gonna go even worse.

I think folks were absolutely aware of it. It doesn't reach presidential campaigns by being unknown.

The issue is. It was only ever a fad for the GP. It didn't make Charli fans, it made a viral trend people had to jump on.

And now its come to an end and like all viral trends. The GP has stopped caring.

She ain't got the vocals for rock. She admits herself that her vocals aren't the strongest and you can't get away with her level of autotune and vocoders with actual rock music.

added a couple notes of my own to that - but truly your example of it being “big” is exceptionally niche. Probably 99.5% of Kamala voters don’t even know what the lime green change was about.

Yeah but presidential campaigns don't make "niche" references to trends for popularity attempts.
Just like Hilary Clinton's Pokemon Go go to the polls nonsense.
These campaigns only do these kind of cringe things when they are specifically trying to backpack onto a trend to speak to the youth vote.

And like I work in one of the biggest cities in the UK. Brat was everywhere. It was even in Oxfam charity shop displays of "how to dress for Brat summer".

Like it's ridiculous to say Brat had no cultural currency.

I’d disagree here, something akin to ‘Crystal Roses’ by Spiritbox for example might suit - a super processed vocal over a more nu-metal leaning track would serve
