I was talking about the album, I maybe missed the point of this thread. :fan:

And to really take things up a notch, lol, hearing the "Taylor Swift" remix is what really made think this. Taylor's 'softer' "vocals" of the same lyrics just work better for my taste. :poot:

Oh, I thought we were talking about the live vocals, but that was probably my b lol

Again, from a technical standpoint, she’s not yelling lol.  Yelling would be unsupported, but she’s often times either belting or using some form of healthy distortion. I get that it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but it always makes me wince a bit when people use “yelling” or “screaming” to describe a vocal that they think is too loud or somewhat unpleasant/harsh.

I would describe her vocals as yelling but that's from a layman's terms.

We can't all be knowledgeable about the technical side of singing, Ladle :grr: check your privilege :grr:

It's my day off and for the first time in weeks I have no plans so y'all get to enjoy me being a nuisance all day xoxo

I would say she comes in hot too often.

She's always *****SINGING!!!!!**** and often at moments where something softer would be my preference.

The opening of How Bad Do U Want Me is a good example for me.  She's not exactly ***SINGING**** but it's just more aggressive than I would prefer.  She has a beautiful 'soft' voice too, and she does use it often. I just wish it was a little more often, especially at the beginning of songs.

I don't feel that way about HBDUWM but I do about her opening verse in ROM, maybe she was being loud because originally there were drums in that part but when they aren't there in the final it feels like she should be more subtle

I'd love it if she did more tbh

Her getting wayyyy into songs like Americano during Jazz and Piano snatches my wig to Jupiter.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

I kind of agree. I don't mind her belting because it gives me goosebumps when placed right, but sometimes I do think that in some songs she could sing a bit softer in a few lines or so when I notice it. (ex. Some of her Jazz music.)  Her voice sounds so beautiful and light when she softens it.

Quite on the contrary, I would love if she experimented more with her gritty voice, perhaps incorporate some growling or shouting, which is more of a metal thing. But then again, she always had that rock and metal edge to her!
