It's probably just 'cause I've played with the multitracks a lot and I'd say it feels like nearly every sound, barring the main melodies, fell out of the same 2015 sample folder :messga:

The Fame has some of the same issues (for example, Just Dance and Money Honey have the exact same percussion and RedOne's samples and signatures are every-goddamn-where) but it's far more varied from start to finish both sonically and genre wise.

There's this sort of...idk, "bored max entropy" that Chromatica hits literally halfway through Alice and it just doesn't break up for the entire album. In other words, it's an album that suffers heat death before you even get to the second song.

It definitely needed more variation, actual ballads, and some real heat to flesh out the good ideas that suffered due to the poor execution.

But it's cohesive so :poot:

Oh i agree it needs more ballads. Tho fans seem set on hating her  ballad tracks everytime she releases one :air:

Fans hated on Grigio girls

Fans hate on The Beast

Fans Hate On Blade of Grass

Fans lowkey hate on DWAS

MR was not as hated on but ppl still saod was overrated

Speechless. Not hated per say but rarely mentioned as a highlight on TFM unless it was to highlight her vocal abilities

Everytime Gaga tries to release a ballad the fan base sh*ts all over it or best case scenario gives it lukewarm reception :flop:. Tbh i think ASIB tracks are the ballads that actually received more broad based praise from fan base for once (and gypsy as the other exeption, if u consider that mid tempo track a ballad). Dope too got some positive reception but the fan base seems to have completely forgotten it exists :emma:

Ive never seen a fan base praise their idols vocal abilities so much while simultaneously only wanting pop dance songs that dont showcase it to its potential :rip:

Im not saying u in this case lol. Im ranting on little monsters being contradictory and inconsistent :toofunny:

REALITY

Chromatica or TF, but I could see an argument for BTW too.

Edit 'cause The Fame has votes now:

This reads like The Fame’s commercial trajectory, but/then like the third act pulls the frame back into an overarching Monster thought process :bradley:

Gaga albums havw always been both chaotic and cohesive imo. I think its confused so many critics and audience members over time. Real ones know all of these are cohesive in their own way.

Born This Way is amazing hands down. Gaga and DJWS.

This tracks … “real ones know” got me in the feels, in the key of “real eyes realize”

In retrospect,  and reading through the thread, there’s the sense of overarching cohesion in chaos itself … like when some people say fire’s only constant is that it’s in perpetual motion

BTW … Gaga, Paul, Red, and Fernando ft. Jeppe, the chaos container

It would probably be Chromatica because the whole album sounds so neutered and hollow, but I'm not about to give it any accolades, so I voted BTW. Then Mayhem, but that's a distant third place. TF, TFM, ARTPOP, and Joanne are so discombobulated.

Chromatica’s polarization is kind of taking me out … being the Kindness Punk that chose poll violence … just dancing in the shadow of an ARTPOP

TF, TFM (and to a lesser extent, Joanne) feel like they carry a certain cohesion, but maybe its conceptual—where do they discombobulate for you, or what’s missing from the continuity

Seeing some of y’all say BTW is giving me absolute war flashbacks because the way the complaint about the album when it came out was the lack of cohesion :rip:

Gaga’s albums have become a lot more coherent in recent years so Mayhem and Chroma definitely are her most. Harlequin too to a degree.

It appears to me some of you may have failed to grasp the difference between cohesive and repetitive, as Chromatica is exactly that: Repetitive. If that's your definition of a cohesive album, may Jesus battle for your life. Babylon™ :traumatica:

On a more serious note: Born This Way, at least to me, is Gagas most cohesive album sonically and thematically. And until Mayhem dropped, it was my favorite album of hers :firega:

One second I'm a troll, then suddenly the troll is me.
