Imo this is the same argument as "This is the price gay people pay for being out and proud" when they get homophobic comments on their social media or in public. Like we all know we'd get hate from individuals for posting the things we do even if it's as simple as wearing an outfit not generally acceptable within gender norms. That doesn't make us any less deserving of basic human decency. And the problem isn't with the individual but society. We really just need to stop abdicating responsibility as a society and saying "it's how it works" because it simply shouldn't. You're not owed any less respect or decency as a human being because of the life you choose to live, you're still allowed boundaries. Allow people to exist within the world.

Gaga also never made headlines for her diva behavior towards paparazzi. Surely we wouldn't be surprised to find out paparazzi look for Chappell harder because they're attempting to fish for a crash out and viral moment from her. I'm not someone that normally pulls the "gender card" but we've never seen such a big deal made about how Justin Bieber crashed out on paparazzi. Somehow that was seen as a boy that was exploited by the industry. We never saw this hate when Kanye cussed out paparazzi. That was a man defending his family. But Britney does it and she's crazy, Chappell does it and she's a evil diva and bitch.

i mean Kanye and Bieber's paparazzi encounters were definitely seen as crash outs overall, not reasonable reactions, they were criticized, fans defended and excused them of course, I agree that it tends to be framed harsher on women and there's different standards of behavior, but Bjork for example literally beat up a paparazzi, she was criticized for it too, fans defended her and her career is unaltered. I mean i think it's a case by case thing in which narrative and the context of the situation affects the reception, there are cases in which paparazzis really step out of line, start interrogating celebs while actually following them around, bringing up deeply personal subjects people are gossiping about to get a reaction for the tabloids. In chappel's case, what was seen was a just a fan wanting her to sign something and a pap trying to get her picture while all dressed up...

I do remember the Bieber paps dramas being used against him to present him as an Ahole or loosing it etc quite a lot but overall I agree with you. Girls have it worst than boys with public perception for sure.
