Reminds me of 2012 when it was trendy to **** talk Lana's performing abilities, I guess it's just part of the gig for newish pop girlies who aren't necessarily great vocalists. It's low-key the same misogyny Madonna, Britney and countless others had to go through at their beginnings, it's pretty sad.

Now let’s not say Lana and Addison are **** on for the same reasons Madonna and Britney were lol it’s not misogynistic when early Lana legitimately did not perform well. She’s still not known for being stellar at it. But that SNL performance was abysmal and it does her no favors to pretend it was misogyny to say so. Same for Addison. I think she’s got more presence than Lana did at debut but she’s trying out the gate to call to some of Britney’s PEAK performances when she’s still getting her feet wet performing at places as large as Lollapalooza.

I’ll never fault a gal for being ambitious; that’s part of addison’s charm for a lot of people. But that doesn’t make her performances above fault either. But also I’m not condemning her to the pits. Like Lana, she’ll get better, too!

If anything, Madonna’s blowback was because she was SO stage ready and comfortable being so sexual and mature. Quite the opposite. *That* was misogyny bc the critique was…she’s really good? Okay lmfao

The contexts might be different, but it would be a stretch to assert the Lana or Britney early discourse was devoid of any sort of misogyny.

Oh there def was some there, I just mean with regards to saying Lana’s performance ability was lacking. That was kind of just objective truth, famously so lmfao. But yeah totally other crap they both got was def rooted in misogyny, especially on Britney’s end since she couldn’t sneeze without some rando calling her a talentless wh*re

I definitely agree on the stage presence not being enough to pull off what she is going for. I don't even want to say budgeting issues because I don't think a higher budget would fix it, and I've seen way more stage presence from people with a lower budget. 

I've also only ever seen a few videos of her performing and don't know her songs, so I don't have a lot of information going in but the clips I have seen were not impressive. I think if she continues to work on her vocal abilities and figures out her own "thing"/sound, then she could be successful. Right now, all I see is someone who has some talent and is mimicking other popstars or only giving a surface-level performance on what a female popstar does. So she is naturally gonna be hated on and compared to others.
