Back then, people didn't have phones that they would use to snap anything and take 1000 photos they would never look at again. It cost money to buy the camera + film + develop the photos. So every photo you took mattered. My family still has many albums filled with photos from when I was younger, and there's absolutely no reason to throw them away. That's how a friend and I found out that we were in kindergarten together.
