Guys like JB, Drake, Bruno, Harry… they just kinda make basic music and don’t really stand out like female pop stars. I genuinely cannot think of a male musician who is the equivalent of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift or Beyoncé today. i lowkey kinda mixed. i agree tho for every gaga there is only one the weeknd. id argue beyonce counterpart is bruno... both known for performance/talent more than the music these days. but like the newer pop girls are just as basic as the classic typically pop boys like... sabrina = justin: both got top40 geared voices and make music that fit that... sure like expresso/sorry etc are quite catchy but are too formulated tate: her music slaps but she more of a dance girl ig cuz whenever tate drops, yk exactly what kinda music she'll put out. addison: probably my fav new pop girl but shes limited talent wise so theres only so much she can do to impress. harry/ed = taylor/gracie: the og not like other girl/boy... relates to the audience ig through vulnerability. not the most unique tone or special but ordinary sells cuz of songwriting. harry/taylor at least try tho with the aesthetics each era. but i agree in the way that the girls are better at differentiating themselves... like olivia billie adele ariana etc all got their own lane. and even the girls i listed can all coexist and have their own brand.
