The U.S. media outlet AXIOS reported this. Kharg Island is a critically important industrial hub in Iran's economy, and the destruction of its infrastructure could effectively paralyze the Iranian economy. Despite this, U.S. and Israeli airstrikes have so far avoided targeting the island, which is akin to an Achilles' heel for Iran's economy. In this regard, Jared Agen, a White House advisor, stated in a Fox Business interview, "What we aim to do is take Iran's vast oil resources out of the hands of terrorists." He compared Iran to Venezuela, asserting that after the U.S. removed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, control of Venezuela's oil industry effectively passed to U.S. energy companies. It’s sick Ironically all of this has just exposed that Iran SHOULD have developed nuclear weapons when it had the opportunity to secure its own sovereignty. It was about oil in the beginning and it’s about oil today. In reality, no country uses nuclear weapons offensively (except the US, again, ironically) Not even North Korea. It’s a deterrent.
