God Control I agree with. And had forgot it got single status.

Living for Love/Ghosttown/Bitch I'm Madonna were high budget but I wouldn't call them high effort. Especially not by her standards. Bitch I'm Madonna was just a lazy house party with a load of Tidal artists as PR for that platform. Ghosttown was cute but basic. Living for Love by Madonna's standards was half arsed, by most other pop acts its a good video. But for her, it was just a singular & simplistic video with little variation. It felt more like the kind of videos she used to put out mid tour rather than to launch an era for me personally.

I don't remember the Medelling video, thats how much it impacted me.

It seems like she had full creative control for Madame X because she made videos for Medellín, Crave, Dark Ballet, Batuka and God Control. She said she used the full budget she got and I liked that.

To be quite honest‚ I don't know if she still counts as "regularly".. :bradley: She did not release any albums this decade (2020-2026).. this will be her first in a long time.

She released in 2019, toured into 2020.
Then toured 2023-2024.

This is the longest we've gone without a Madonna album at 7 years. But as I said above to Ghoulash, if you followed Madonna in that period there was serious belief and strong rumours that she was calling time on it because of her body failing her on the MX tour.

And while she didn't release an album, it's not like she wasn't actively involved in music and had disappeared entirely. We did get new singles from her in 2023 and she has released 3 deep dive collections last year. Alongside touring & releasing a concert film.

Yeah, she definitely had creative control (or at least was prepared to self invest and do what she wanted like with Dark Ballet & God Control).
She definitely had a vision for the era, it just really needed a bit of refinement in my opinion.

Imagine a comeback video so strong that she reignites the music Video art form like Gaga did in 2009.

All I'll say is it better be worth the hype cuz SHE associated this as COADF 2.0...:reductive:

Yeah that was a terrible mistake. People will have crazy high expectations and it'll most likely not live up to it

Interesting. Imo she put quite a lot of efforts into the music videos for Living For Love, Ghosttown, Bitch I'm Madonna, Medellin, God Control

Most of those were over 10 years ago. Medellin and God Control came out like 7 years ago

Yeah and those were from her last album, so there isn't anything more recent to compare to

I’m really looking forward to seeing what she releases. Good on her for still going for big production music videos. Sometimes less is more though so will see. Anyone know when the first single might be out?

Abracadabra did just that last year, imo, and the reception, trends and awards back that up.
Costs of music videos are massive now and will get even more costly if this war goes on for a while.

Album was rumoured in a leak to have been slated for the last week of May before a delay into the summer.

Lead single was rumoured for March, but is only just filming now.

So assume a roughly 1 month delay atm. So April lead single, start of June for single 2 and then Album at the end of June.

She is still trying to stay relevant?

I guess you expect gaga to retire to a nursing home when she hits 60

Lady Gaga 2009

Is this for the "raunchiest music video ever" that she promised? :ally:
