RochesterJoannster 3,761
It’s a shame that Mayhem really would have been a strong contender if there had been another iconic video after Abracadabra instead of doing an okay/cute video for a throwaway song. 1 1

PornoDanceFight 817
Born This Way's visuals speak both to her inspirations while making the record (Giger-esque sci-fi and Madonna/MJ/Whitney homages in BTW; neo-religious maximalism in Judas; Springsteen/NY influences in TEOG; Americana in Y&I/inspo from this being her "on the road" record; manifesting one's own destiny in MTN/bringing the era full circle back to her NY roots) and the ethos of the record itself (literally taking every influence/inspiration to fuel your destiny of self). I think Born This Way's visuals are just as important as its songs, and therefore will always clear (to ME). However, The Fame Monster's visuals are forever iconic and changed the game for music videos in the late aughts through the 2010s, and for that, they will always be a twin crown jewel along with BTW in terms of Gaga's visual legacy.
Lemon Blood 400
Born This Way had the best run of music videos, but MAYHEM had two of her best ever 1
JustAnotherGayASMR 291 Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:53 AM Has to be BTW era. MTN alone puts it right up there, pure brilliance & artistry. TF has a solid videography too, which often gets overshadowed by her recent work. Especially when you consider it was her debut, budgets were tight but she still managed to sell a unique striking visual that fit the lyrical content. After all it's just another gay x https://www.youtube.com/@JustAnotherGayASMR

ARTSEX 1,149 Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM TFM > BTW > TF > ARTPOP > Chromatica > Mayhem > Joanne Explanation: TEOG brings BTW down (messy angles). "Eh, Eh" is actually cute especially compared to SL. ARTPOP ones are great but are too little (and sadly with G.U.Y. way too much going on). Mayhem is an interesting case. TDD & Disease seem too simple (in a non-developed way), DWAS is tolerable and Abra is amazing, but that's just one. I only like JW when it comes to Joanne. Dance. Sex. Art. Pop.
