Artist that you stanned for a long time but then it faded away?

I think it’s pretty normal for people to really love something at a certain age and as you grow and evolve your tastes change. I have artists and albums that will always be nostalgic for me even if I don’t stay as invested. I remember the whole Britney Oops I did it again era was so huge for me I listened to it so much I can still sing every word years later. But I had to force myself to listen to Britney Jean and I never listened to Glory. Gaga took over and I think she’s lasted the longest for me because she keeps mixing it up.

The un-stanning was never based on my loyalty. Based more on stuff that happened in their careers and the output is just not there anymore. How do you "stan" people who have not been truly musical active/consistent for a decade? 

Its just hard.

But I always will ride for them. 

I will say this....currently I don't see me being able to do this with Gaga. I will check GagaDaily in the 2050s if it still exists.

HP will always hold a special place in my youthful heart, but she really ruined it for adult me. 

I had to put my books in storage, because I couldn't stand looking at them anymore. But I can't part with them yet, either.

taylor swift. she was my top artist 2 years in a row. i still listen to her maybe a couple times a month but no more than that. i had this certain type of passion for her music... and it just faded away; especially after showgirl

what sucks is that i have so much merch that i spent an... egregious amount of money on. and now i have to sell it and im so lazy so im not gonna do it for so long

Don't judge me but Jessie J  She was literally everywhere in the UK in her Who You Are era and I remember seeing her on YT before she was famous and loving her voice. Started drifting during the Wild era and then dropped off after that. But Do it like a Dude is still a jam

Spice Girls, Britney, Christina and Avril. It was a mixture of just growing up and widening my musical tastes and their musical output started going downhill. To be fair, Britney came back a bit with Glory, Christina with Liberation and Avril with Head Above Water but I think those albums were pretty much flukes as far as I'm concerned.

He's not a pop queen but Billy Joel.  Liked all his music growing up.  

 

He had residency at MSG in New York and his stick if you will just seemed like so played out after a while.  Like there was a documentary or something like that on HBO and I wasn't even interesting in watching.  I felt he was relying on hits all older than 30 years.

 

 

But I still enjoy hearing some of his deeper cuts
