Artist that you stanned for a long time but then it faded away?

I dunno if stanned is the right word but I used to love Dev Hynes work as Blood Orange SO MUCH in my early 20s. Same for a lot of the more indie alt people at the time.

I was obsessed with Grimes for a very, very long time, but she kind of stopped releasing music like she used to.

I used to obsessed with Paris Hilton in my youth, and Fergie also atp. Then Gaga came and she replaced everyone.

Gwen Stefani! Growing up I dreamed of seeing her in concert and my gay 10 year old ass had all her perfume bottles on my book shelf for the harajuku characters. I was so excited when no doubt got back together for their comeback push and shove, and that album had absolutely no skips for me. Her later solo releases were a bit bland, and her latest is a snooze fest. Also her pushing the religious agenda has turned me off her completely. She has amazing vocals and I’ll always feel some love and nostalgia for her but she is the only person I would say ive truly stunned and in recent years just not been interested in their creative output.

She was my queen for the longest until recently. I stanned so hard during LAMB and TSE eras. I had whatever HL men’s stuff was available. I still have some of the men’s LAMB shoes and a Burton x LAMB backpack. She even talked to me at one of the Las Vegas shows in 2018 and said Happy Birthday and signed my friends jacket. I’ve met all the guys, Stephen and Gabrial included, and they still are very progressive.

I went to Gwens show celebrating the 30th anniversary of Anaheims arena in 2023. Before Just A Girl, she said something like “this song is more relevant now than it’s ever been.”

I assumed she meant Roe vs Wade getting overturned but now maybe she meant something else. The Hallow App Girl era is my least favorite. It’s so disappointing. People like to say “She’s a Catholic white woman from Orange County, why are you surpised?” Or mention the context of “Simple Kind of Life.” I’m like ma’am, she was doing this while wearing a Virgin Mary shirt.

My friends and I love No Doubt and feel the same way. We are going to the Sphere residency. I kinda wanna switch my tickets for floor seats and have a snarky sign geared towards Gwen and her affiliation with that cringe app.

David Guetta, Sia, Katy, Skrillex, Bruno Mars (with the exception of DWAS) and The Weeknd.

They all peaked pre-2018. I cant stand listening to their new songs and their new persona these days. But i still occasionally listen to their old tracks but not as much.

So…. I was a HUGE Black Eyed Peas Stan for years. And really stopped only after Fergie left.  Having a female voice is really necessary for them, I think.

DESTROY UR DISEASE

I've never really stanned her but I was quite a big fan of Sia until... you know, the movie happened and all the stuff around that :noparty:

Similar with Nicki after the recent events - I honestly don't even care about her anymore and I don't feel like listening to her music ever again.

Katy used to be one of my absolute faves before 143 happened... I still listen to her earlier stuff but I do not feel the same way about her anymore :interestinga:

I can smell your sickness I can...

Cavadour

Creedence Clearwater Revival has been my very first and HUGE crush in 69. Stanning them like they were no others. Hunting pictures in german music magazines, the only available source back then. That band was responsible for me buying my very first record player/amplifier. I already had all of their albums before I could finally play them endlessly at home.

As musician and multi-media artist I fell for many bands and artists along the years. Some falls were bigger than others : Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jethro Tull, Roxy Music, Dire Straits, Grace Jones, The Stranglers, William Orbit...

My last crush and the biggest I had in the last thirty more years has been Gaga.

Even though my obsessive listening to all of them has vaned a bit along the years, I still have resurgence, flashbacks, like it has never really disappeared. It's just dormant inside and pops out from now and then. I usually always get the itch when playing tracklists or djing for my friends. The night helping, I find myself playing the same and same songs and artists ever again : my old, less old and not so old heartthrobs.

Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

Nine Inch Heels

Saw this post on ATRL too haha.

repeating what I wrote:

Gorillaz. Ever since Humanz, something about it has felt like the characters has taken a backseat and Damon feels more like the feature on a lot of songs. I get they'd always collaborated on projects, but it kinda just feels like Damon wanting to collab with a bunch more people rather than 2D the character. There's more weight on guest vocals rather than Damon's vocals, to the point it feels like a mixtape. Albums don't feel as otherworldly and immersive in their themes. And in general has a more poppier, lighter sound I think. I can't quite put my finger on it exactly, simply I've just gotten bored with the Damon Albarn variety hour. I'll try this new album tho, I have hope for it, the latest music video is SO good. True art among ai slop world.

I used to love Sia but she really lost the plot after 1000 forms of fear. Also I saw the tour for that album and she had her back to the audience the whole time and the video feed on her dancers was prerecorded instead of live so it felt like a scam.
