I think that sometimes the far left just bumps into the far right. It’s horseshoe theory. 
 

they both are playing strategies. Trump probably believes he can outsmart Mamdani. Mamdani probably is feeding into his bullshit just enough to get **** actually done. 
 

I get people wanna joke that Trump has a crush. But there is a very real game play happening here and none of this coincidence.

This isn't an example of horseshoe theory for two reasons: 1. the theory itself is rubbish and fails to correspond to reality and 2. Mamdani is by no means, and under no circumstances, far left. He is at most a slightly left leaning Democrat. While that might be difficult for right aligned Americans to comprehend, it's the objective and very evident political reality in the rest of the world.
