This is probably as the result of outdoor walking but laminated floors gather a lot of dirt if outdoor shoes are walking over them, or even general dust gathering in a house. Worsened of course if you have pets. Whenever I've done dancing barefoot on wooden floors, my feet are always black afterwards as people just walk over them with outdoor shoes. Carpets are more likely to result in hair, fluff and general things being stuck to your soles but won't actually turn them black (can totally do it to your socks though). I say that as someone who used to walk about my carpeted house barefoot/in socks all the time as a kid, before I realised that it was unsanitary. Honestly, these days, even if a floor is kept immaculate, if I have to put my bare feet on it, I always wash it afterwards. People seem to think if they don't allow shoes in their house that their floors are perfectly clean. Got news for you, unless you painstakingly clean them every single day, there's a lot more dirt there than you'd like to know. That's why, because our floors are certainly never cleaned every day, that I always wear slippers in my house without question, never put anything on the floor and clean anything that does drop on the floor. My OCD informs me that floors are for walking on, not for sitting on, placing objects that are meant to be kept clean on and certainly never walked on barefoot. I don't even use bath mats, the germs they must gather is insane and others feet have been on that. And as the case in my house, it's a regular towel folded over the bath, I don't know which side has been on the floor. I don't know how people walk about their house barefoot (they can't walk like that into their bathroom surely?) and then take those feet with god knows what stuck on them into a bed that they're possibly sharing with someone.
