This doesn’t seem like something gaga would do. Edited March 4 by Squidward T 1
Lord Mayhem 3,428
Gaga was beyond gracious and if anything tried to dignify her when she was spacing out...wtf is she talking about?
OMF 3,649
Oddly enough, like addiction itself, the most decadent and deranged backstage stories in this book harden into a vice-like cycle of titillation and tediousness. Doesn’t sound like Gaga at all, does sound like Liza unfortunately
FATCAT 60,888
It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad. Most comment sections I've seen about this are seeing right through this lie. This kitten over here (meow)

weed 78,930
Isn't this the same book as before? what's new? is the book just now released?
Ladle Ghoulash 52,822
This is way worse than I thought lol. Genuinely hard for me to say what actually happened, though. Was Liza in worse shape than she wanted to admit and was offended by feeling infantilized in spite of her infirmity? Or was Gaga overcompensating? It sounds to me like if the producers wanted her in the wheelchair too, something must’ve happened backstage to justify that directive, but idk. Ladle Ghoulash 52,822
Just now, weed said: Isn't this the same book as before? what's new? is the book just now released? The passage quoted in this pre-release review is more in depth than what was released before. You’ve probably seen the clip of showbiz legend Liza Minnelli and Lady Gaga at the 2022 Academy Awards. A visibly flustered, wheelchair-bound Minnelli fumbles for words as co-host Gaga takes her hand and comforts her, whispering: “I got you.” It was held up as a moment of touching Hollywood solidarity and, right after the lowlight of Will Smith whacking Chris Rock in the face, there was never a greater need for one. All for the cameras, says Minnelli in her new memoir. According to her version, Gaga sabotaged her, humiliating her backstage by insisting (over Liza’s objection) that she wouldn’t go onstage unless Minnelli was in a wheelchair, asking if Liza “wouldn’t be better off going home”, and patronising her by asking questions to test her memory as if she were “an idiot” – all so she could make a shameless grab for the limelight and have a heroic moment at Liza’s expense. “Stefani Germanotta, who created the fantasy of Lady Gaga,” Liza writes, “became someone I didn’t know on Oscar night.” Ouch. I can't decipher how much of that is the author of the article and how much is from the actual book, which if only in quotes isn't much to me beyond the "better off going home," which is hard to believe. Seems almost like a smear campaign but idk! The fact that they say Liza 'writes' even gives me a red flag lmao bc she didn't write anything, perhaps 'Liza recounts' would float my boat.
