Which one has the best songwriting (meaning composition of lyrics and melody)?

Songwriting credits per song:

Poker Face

Shallow

Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando & Andrew Wyatt

Always Remember Us This Way

Lady Gaga, Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey & Lori McKenna

Die with a Smile

Abracadabra

Lady Gaga, Andrew Watt & Cirkut (Additional interpolation credits to Siouxsie and the Banshees)

Honestly, a tragedy that Bad Romance was snubbed in this category. I mean...

"I want your Psycho, your Vertigo shtick

Want you in my Rear Window, baby, you're sick"

Like, come on, that's camp songwriting at its finest! Smart, hilarious, allusive.

Who else was writing about an*l s*x like this back in 2009? :vegas:

ARUTW is undoubtedly one of her best compositions, and I would love for Gaga to work with Hillary Lindsey again

Abra is like the best summary of Gaga as an artist

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

ARUTW is the best song composition of the lot. Like a true songwriter song.

Arutw should be her biggest hit tbh

And it's a SOLO hit

I’m torn because ARUTW is just such a beautiful song and loved by everyone, got to hear it again in Sydney and the reaction to it always takes me a moment to soak it in

Abracadabra is a song only Gaga could write and builds on the legacy of Poker Face which was a big part of making dance pop a popular genre

I’ve always felt some distance from ASIB songs because I know they’re wrote for the character and Gaga writes songs with a much more personal stand point in mind. So it kinda makes me feel like the songwriting is inauthentic compared to her own material (since it’s written with the sound, feelings and vibe in mind).

I voted Shallow

It’s my least favorite recording of the bunch but as a written/composed piece, it’s the best

All of them are great, but only Shallow has a bit of depth (funnily)

As compositions only (without the lyrics), ARUTW and DWAS are up there with Shallow. Poker Face is the runner-up to Shallow in lyrical depth while ARUTW is number one in poetry.

As a recording overall, I’d say Abracadabra is the best.

I still can't believe Shallow and Die With A Smile didn't win it but Abracadabra would've been amazing to see take it.

And Bad Romance should've been nominated at the very least. That was when the only had 5 songs/albums in main categories, it would've been there for sure if they had 8-10 back then.
