So we all know that Gaga is not like a typical experimental/avant-garde type of artists (however I do think that if she really wanted to - she could) like for example Björk or Arca, or SOPHIE (or anybody whose song appears on one of those "Songs That Would Give Swifties an Aneurysm" playlists) BUT - she is great at putting those different avant-garde elements into her songs while still making them sound very pop, so in the end, while they're still commercial, some of them sound pretty much like nothing that you've heard before.

So which song from her discography, in your opinion, deserves the title of her most experimental one?

For me I think this is gonna be Aura :koons:
with an honorable mention being Americano :gaycat:

If unreleased ones count, I think Tinnitus felt super experimental, at least at the time of her career it was made. Also to add- I know that song has only been available in pieces on youtube so might not be one of the best choices to make, but its a song I still think about a lot

So far I think that Partynauseous, Ratchet, In like with You, and Aura are her most experimental work that we know of.

Maybe even Love Me Right? It’s a slow electronic song with the spirit of a 90s ballad. It shouldn’t work, but it does. I’m not saying it’s a groundbreaking song, but sonically it sounds different from what the other MPGs have done.

Edit: How could I forget Bloody Mary? It’s definitely not something that any other MPG would make nor create.

I remember when Government Hooker premiered like it was yesterday and thinking that Gaga was the coolest bitch on the planet rocking that runway with that cigarette. Such good times as a fan :flutter:

There is no official confirmation that those snippets are legit, most of them are fanmade

aura was originally intended for like a, super niche, electronic band, am I right? that would be the one.

No, she just bought an unused demo from a duo of Israeli djs and reworked it

The one that starts sounding like you're riding a camel on the desert,

Suddenly turns super-electronic with great (demo :staymad:) vocals,

And turns into a beautiful chorus giving you chills of your lifetime

so Aura? :reductive:
