Fully agreed but I think the continuous mix got caught up in label contract hell as it even disapeared from streaming for a period

Side sequencing imho

In the era of automatic record changers, double-album sets (2LPs) were pressed with Side 1 and Side 4 on the first disc, and Side 2 and Side 3 on the second disc. This allowed a listener to stack the records, play Side 1, let the second record drop, play Side 2, and then flip the entire stack to play Sides 3 and 4 in order, providing nearly an hour of uninterrupted music.
