Anyway she didnt say anything bad, cringy or anything to get upset about. Its just that usually she has one of the best speeches and this time she was actually one of the artists with the most forgetable generic plain toast speeches

 

If i were Gaga id get the political speech out of the way on first win (since theres no guarantee shed win a bigger award), and if she did win SOTY or AOTY she could focus on how great an honour it was to her since she never won those awards and she worked so hard on the album

 

This was her 16th win if a regular category. She didnt really need to do a career speech for that one especially one so plain. But again, not that serious, just a missed oppurtunity i feel

Thats another thing. To be fair its not just the US, every Country has a home bias

 

If it was truly about WW impact theres huge markets like South America and China and India with artists that on their respective homes alone are bigger than some US artists. Have u seen the most daily viewed music videos on youtube? Half of them are not english artists ive ever even heard of but obviously they are huge in some places

 

So yeah. Grammys is focused on impacts of US market. Its just the reality. We can be upset that WW impact should matter more but the reality is that its quite minimal of a factor compared to US impact

 

And the additional reality with that is that Gaga unfortunately is not as big in her home Country relative to her peers as she is in the rest of the developed world which is interesting. Her chart performance had been very meh in the USA for over a decade now thats just the reality

 

The fact she still has won 16 Grammys now and is critically acclaimed is still impressive. I think WW impact if it matters at all is that ironically it helps her stay relevant in the US indirectly because the internet is global

 

For example some in NA discovered ARUTW when it wasnt even a single here cuz it was a hit in EU and it made it to internet, tik toks etc. In that sense WW impact spills over and tbh i think it happened a bit with abracadabra which gave it some longevity in the USA despite a lukeward peak

Gaga won the ones I expected and it’s fair. They rarely let artists sweep like they used to before.

Come on guys this is the album she has won the most awards for and it’s her 7th solo pop album.

I agree its not surprising or awful (2 wins on a 7th pop album is not too shaby)

 

Just sucks she doesnt seem like shell ever in a main category. If she hasnt till now at almost 40 and 17 years into her career, it will only be tougher going forward

This, thats the thing that piss me off: she has great chances during her whole career but always bad timming with the bigger categories (I cant belive how BTW doesnt have a single one just because it compete with 21)

Imo she squeezed the performance into her schedule and probably didn't have time to prepare a speech the way she would want to on the current situation in US, so I'm okay w that because it was already a big focus of the show anyway

I'm happy at least she took some of her time speaking to the women in the industry, there's a lot of new pop girls which she probably wanted to show her support for them

Also idk it's still bugging me how they treat Cher for her LV mistake, how that producer guy was rude and stand offish from her and how they said god governs their country and lives when Trump is.... I know that's such a superficial thing  but i think i'm madder about how they glossed over Cher's lifetime achievement award, gave a bunch of deceased artists a 10-15 minute slot, robbed Gaga of her logistically accurate win all back to back more than the AOTY snub.

Now that you mentioned it, why didn't they do a little video for Cher's award, that was so weird of them
