@Bling not the music! :cheeky:

Sadly, I've been disenchanted with her actions for so long that this doesn't even phase me anymore.

Time. It will not wait, no matter how hard you hold on...

Not great. It'd be cool to have my favorite popstar be an outspoken activist like she was in the past, but that's not in the cards rn. She's a multi-millionaire doing muliti-millionaire things. I hope she's doing something good behind the scenes beyond the BTW Foundation that we'll learn about later. But at least we're getting a cute song out of it so alright 👍🏼

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

What kind of real estate business? The ones i truly have the biggest problem with are the ones that arent even builders but just buy up a bunch of homes to rent in a portfolio

I think she's a multimillionaire, so we shouldn't act surprised when her actions don't exactly align with our own economic class because surprise! her class interests are not the same as ours. She will never truly have our best interests at heart because she simply doesn't live the same life we do, nor does she share our preoccupations or obstacles. This is partly what explains her silence toward current political issues too. That being said, maybe we're reading too much into what amounts to a sponsorship for a cute song

To play devils advocate, she’s currently in Japan, which has a more conservative-leaning political stance. It is a possibility she’s not speaking out right now to ensure there is zero risk of harm to her fans. She’s had to cancel concerts in the past due to bomb threats, she wore a bulletproof vest to sing the national anthem at Biden’s inauguration, and the Manchester attack at Ariana’s show is proof that extreme caution is needed at times. We don’t know all that’s happening.

People saying ‘was the check worth it’, do we know the stance of this brand? Are they actually right-wing and Trump-funding, or are we generalizing real estate as pure evil? I genuinely don’t know much about this brand enough to immediately label it as a cruel move on Gaga’s part. Regardless, the song is political right now. If she utilized their money to get this message broadcast to millions of people, won’t you be my neighbor, it’s something I can support in a way. It may not be perfect, it’s still beautiful in it’s own way.

There’s a lot we don’t know, and it’s more than fair to feel disappointment even still.

Another thing, I think I realised a long time ago that Gaga is a human. With all people there’s going to be things you like about them and things you dislike, this is not to excuse or diminish some of the questionable things she doing/done but to also remind people that celebrities are human too and there’s not one that’s perfect.

I think we just all have to accept that OG Gaga and current Gaga aren't the same woman.

Now we can either say she's changed. Or we can go the Avril Lavigne route and blame it on a clone.

Without deflecting blame and she is a full grown adult with her own brain, I also think her current partner is somewhat to blame. He just comes across so business and money minded it’s gross, I don’t get the praise.

I really agree with this. Gaga is an artist that has expressed thought and ideas that resonated with us and has made music that we love. But she is also a person who started as a scrappy though priviveged young artist, and has evolved now into a multimillionaire. There’s no way a person experiences that much money, fame, awards and success without changing who they are as a person at least a little bit. I think the core of a person always exists, and I do think Gaga has retained her essence through it all, but it’s also clear that she’s also a shrewd business woman and that growing side of her will of course have an impact also. I think we’re always reading into everything she does but at the end of the day she’s just a person with increasingly more business interests and opportunities.

Gaga died in 2012 and replaced by Yolanda De Jong :ororomunroe:

i don't understand, as far as i know Rocket money and Redfin are just search engines that manage data and statistics, they are not linked directly with the finances of real state or have any control over it, i've seen this sponsorship before with small creators and working class ppl that don't earn a lot of money, with rocket money in particular they claim it helps them a lot to reduce their expenses and be in a better position at the end of the month, i don't see where is the problem here, is there something they do that i'm unaware of?
