Every time we have a leader like Mamdani show up you can see it. Hell, even Kamala tapped into it for a bit there with the help of celebrities like Charli XCX. "Kamala is brat" was f*cking massive and the memes kept the election alive on everyone's fyp. It 100% matters when public figures say something. Nobody follows a celebrity on a social media site to ignore what they say. I work for a youth charity in the UK, all of our young people (all care-experienced or SEND etc) are politically concious. They 100% care and have opinions (we get paid thousands by government to report these opinions lol). The issue is - they rightly don't trust the status quo politicians/parties or the system. They're all part of the first generations to be successively failed. The social contract is broken, and the standard of life the older crowds expect is paid for by making these young people suffer. And the young people know it. So excluding politicians like Bernie/Mamdani/Jeremy Corbyn/Zach Polanski on the left and Trump/Farage/Le Pen on the right - no politician stands a chance with them, because they don't even pretend to care about these young people. They have zero interest in coming to these young people and insist young people go to them and owe them their votes. And naturally, young people are rejecting them. This whole narrative that young people don't care about politics is just an outright lie perpetuated by the political class on purpose. Young people care, they just hate the political class and aren't prepared to back them. The gays know how to party 1 1

Nowadays we’d be considered more central I think. I personally wouldn’t out myself in harms way for a stranger, nor would I expect a person or a business to out themselves on the line for a hot & cold audience. We surround ourselves with people like us tbh. And given your lack of solidarity and principle, I imagine people with principle don't stick around. I honestly think the future of politics will come out of folks rebuilding the social contract from the bottom up and reshaping institutions in that way because the establishment is so decrepit and sclerotic atp. I mean, it's a little heartening to see Trump's support crater with young people (especially young men) but it's a shortlived relief when you know the DNC itself won't properly back candidates that could harness gen z and millennials. ¡Seguimos aquí!

There really is no good reason for anyone with the ear of millions of people to be quiet about important topics. ICE, Palestine, food insecurity, the climate, pick one and speak up or get the f*ck off the stage and make room for someone that deserves the public's eye. I get that you have strong opinions, as do i. But you can absolutely give up on Gaga ever getting deeply and publicly involved in politics or social issues anymore I think and I stand by her right to do so because I think she’s doing the right thing by doing it. She’s in a lose lose scenario because of her fame and wealth to people now.

If I had it my way it wouldn’t be like that, but the sad truth is humans are self cantered creatures, we made up entire religions and ways of living and beliefs to deny how unimportant we are as individuals. Any of us if we had that amount of wealth absolutely would think of ourselves first I think, even if we think we wouldn’t.

Anyone who would say otherwise is already banned Buuuut I guess thanks also for not believing this kind of criticism means I'm showing up at the next ICE protest with a sign that says "LADY GAGA FAILED US" the only real world effect my opinion has is that I'm a little less inclined to stream her music. But does that even matter when she's got nearly $5k of my actual money in her pocket this year for 9 whole tickets to three Mayhem Ball shows? I'm a conflicted person but it's my right as a human being to be a hypocrite I've got too much of a bleeding heart to sit on a fortune, I fear. I already willingly give my money to friends (hence 9 goddamn tickets to see Gaga, four of them VIP) and I was raised in poverty and now sit just north of comfortable ¡Seguimos aquí!

They demand perfection today which is just impossible. Like there's been some political drama in the UK over the weekend, and i've seen folks attacking a potential more left wing alternative to the PM because he took £1000 from an Israeli lobbying group in 2004. They've literally had to go back 22 years to find something to complain about. The gays know how to party
