This is major. I really didn't expect him to ever speak out publicly, just that he'd silently retreat more and more. Thing is, I can totally understand his point of view and maybe some of this is true but...I have concerns because the big problem is that his parents never spoke out about him in the media like he claims. You can say a lot of things about the Beckhams but they never trash their family members. There's been evidence that they've been trying to encourage him back, if anything. Does he just believe the gossip magazines when they speculate on how his family are feeling at this time? Because they themselves haven't said anything. How it seems to me is that he didn't write this. I wouldn't be surprised if Nicola and/or her family did so, with help from his own experiences to draw on. The signs have been there for a long time now that Nicola's been pulling him away from his family and not letting him see them. He suddenly inexplicably stopped meeting with them or acknowledging them out of the blue and the next minute, he's snubbing all family events and unfollowing them on social media, like he hates them. It makes absolutely no sense.

What he's seized upon is the public speculation that Nicola's a narcissist who's trying to isolate him from all his loved ones so she's the only influence in his life. And the warning signs are all there. It's quite sad that he's attributed the public's speculation to what his parents actually think. Nicola can't be happy that the media's suggesting she's behind it but let's face it, there's no other culprit, really? Brooklyn was super tight with his family until he got married to her and then he slowly pulled away until he'd completely disowned them. Alarm bells. 

I can't imagine what this must be doing to his parents and especially his little sister, who's only 14, wondering why her big brother doesn't want to see her. I get that he might genuinely get away from toxic parents but why punish your siblings? That's why I don't think the idea of problematic parents can be totally true, more like that was something he was taught to believe by an overbearing spouse because she didn't like that her in-laws were wary of her...

It's a long story but basically, Brooklyn was always close to his family until he got heavily involved with Nicola. It was rumoured that she and Victoria didn't really get along but those rumours were apparently just that. Victoria had apparently designed Nicola's wedding dress but on the day, she wore Valentino instead leaving people wondering if the feud rumours were true and stuff came out about how Victoria stole the first dance with Brooklyn. Ever since the marriage, Brooklyn and Nicola have barely been around the Beckhams. Initially, they flew over from Miami to the Cotswolds and vice versa to holiday together but as time went on, this happened less and less. The big snub happened last year when they threw a vow renewal with none of Brooklyn's family in attendance and didn't even tell them about it, with the Beckhams only finding out when the pics were posted on social media. Since then, Brooklyn has completely snubbed his family. He's unfollowed them all on social media except his little sister, I believe. David threw many 50th birthday celebrations, Brooklyn didn't attend and most outrageously, he was also absent at his David's knighthood and didn't even congratulate him on social media. And most recently, Gordon Ramsay's daughter got married and the Beckhams are friends of the Ramsays so were going to attend, but there was going to be a bit of a clash because Brooklyn had also accepted an invite...but the wedding was held last month and the Beckhams were there but Brooklyn was a no-show. It's like he's actively avoiding anything to do with them. And it's highly suspected that it's not him making the decisions, it's Nicola wanting him all for herself so she's gaslighted him into believing that his family's toxic.

I'm glad you're seeing this situation for what it is as well. Nicola has all the markings of a narcissist. I've even seen professionals analyse this situation. She's only managed to find any acting work because of her rich parents getting her connections (no one had heard of her when she got the designated hot girl role in Transformers) and it shows because her acting's limited, her vanity project movie went nowhere and Hollywood doesn't think she's anything special. But she's not got any other talent and is desperate to be famous, so she clings onto Brooklyn who's far more famous. Problem is, he has a super close family who can see that she's problematic so she wants to isolate him from them so probably has been feeding him nonsense about them being toxic and because he's young and in love with a beautiful woman, he believes her. It's all very sad and should be used as a cautionary tale of the damage a narcissistic partner can do.
