And the damage that would happen via assassination would likely be exponentially worse domestically.

Honestly, call me selfish. But as a non-American, I'd much rather the Trump damage was done domestically rather than how its currently playing out.

He stole the election using Elon Musk who pretty much confirmed he wouldnt have won without him...I think MOST people know he didnt really win yet here we are. Contesting it wouldve incited a civil war too cuz we already saw what his crazy ass MAGA people do when they dont win their elections and attacked the Capitol

Can I point you in the direction of Dixville Notch, the tiny village that often declares its results first. In 2016 they voted 4-2 in favour of Clinton, in 2020 they voted 5-0 in favour of Biden, and in 2024 they split 3-3. This is just 5 or 6 bits of paper being dropped into a box and examined and the results announced imnediately - no way Musk could interfere.

What do the numbers tell us ? These people are not Trump lovers, but three of them (out of six) thought he was preferable to Harris.

I mean, if he’s assassinated, Vance gets to ride Trump’s martyrdom and continue Trump’s policies for at least another 4 years, as opposed to letting him fizzle out and the movement collapses with it.

I understand the appeal of the theory that he stole the election, but his victory seems perfectly plausible, tbh. He basically just got enough low propensity voters out who didn’t vote in down ballot races in swing states and that was enough to push him over the edge. The last three presidential elections have been margin of error/coin toss races and 2024 was no different.

Id believe that if only Elon Musk wasnt in charge of counting votes and literally paid people to vote for him in giant checks...

I don't take the votes of a remote village of 6 people to be the template for how the rest of the country votes. We may never know but seeing how his corruption and billionaire friends are in his pocket...im just finding it hard to believe it was a 100% fair election.

Not the way imo. At the rate things are going I think the Trump regime has a chance of collapse before we even get to November. Take him out now and you remove the possibility of his driving himself off the cliff and you would also turn him into a martyr. Things are very bad at the moment, bad and dangerous, but I think people need to hold their nerve.

Agreed tbh. The fact that he's becoming so crazy is a testament to the fact that his back is against the wall.

K-word him now and he's immortal. His movement lasts for years and his visage unites the right against us for decades to come.

Allow him to continue spiraling until he's left powerless after the midterms, potentially removed from office, and allow him to live out his final years sh*tting in a diaper until a nurse finds his bloated ass d-word from a heart attack or some other age/health related issues and he outlives MAGA. Whatever's left of MAGA at that point will have already splintered due to poor/no leadership.

Ok fair. I didnt think about that.

I suppose one way to think of it is that if he becomes a martyr and the political ideology is emboldened you run the risk that more Republicans like this get elected in the future (even if they are less extreme). Even if its just some of the core ideologies of isolationism, bullying the world to get what you want and the rehtoric that America has been ripped off by the world

So yeah killing Trump might help things outside America faster in the short term but it will reduce the chances that the political ideas that elected him in the first place will take some hit (dont forget hes been elected twice now this is not a one off)

I admit I didnt think of the martyr aspect before but thinking about it more, self implosion may be more effective long term. His support keeps dropping even among Republicans. Lets allow them time to keep getting disapointed. They may actually think twice the next time someone is this extreme

I have no doubt he would have lost in 2024 had he not almost been assassinated.

Imagine what it'd do for him now :rip: or rather, what it'd do for the right.

It sucks but our only option is to continue to let him spiral and hope some day the institutions can be repaired and some people will be held accountable.

Whimsical bitch
