Mayhem needed a full blast, earth shattering banger, abra was good enough but still doesn't feel larger than life, like BTW, or Bloody Mary

This is specially frustrating for me because I really think this was her last full dance pop project, like, it left me craving for more. 

I really wish she would release a Mayhem Monster

Like if ur taste is that narrow, maybe other artists aren't the problem all the time. Maybe some here just need to learn to expand their taste, or if not, at least acknolwedge that its an opinion not a fact

 

Somehow every other popular act either sucks or is overrated:

 

Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Adele, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate Mcrae, Cardi B, Beyonce, Jack Harlow etc i could go on and on.

 

I dont like all of them either but I like some. They cant ALL be bad. Anyone that thinks ALL are bad, they are the common demoninator. Reminds me of people who have 271919542 failed relationships and its always their exes fault, maybe look inward a little

I think its part of stan culture and while not all users on this site are stans some definitely are.

Stans tend to be ride or dies for a singular artist or a select few and aren't realistically music lovers. They just love the singer.

So there's always going to be that clash between stans who are typically insular and validate everything via things like sales metrics and stream data. And music lovers who have a variety of tastes.

Its why my pet hate is the lil flopsters who complain everytime a non-gaga album drops and people talk about it here

Thank you. I never got the VIY hype, she's shrill af on that song and you can even hear her voice straining on the final chorus. Her recent acoustic live performance of it proves it's a gorgeous song, and could've been stylised so much better than the shoddy ABBA-esque pop rock album version we got. 

I mean, as someone who’s classically trained as a vocalist, can safely say she’s not straining. It’s fine to say you don’t like the tone, but she def ain’t straining.

The instrumentals may be some of her best produced to date, especially Disease.

- disease is better than vanish into you, especially outro

- abracadabra's best song on mayhem and thats no doubt

- blade of grass + die w a smile should remove from mayhem

- mayhem is fantastic but the fame monster and born this way's better.

- her tour aesthetics and concepts slayed, one of her best work of all time!

- album's photoshoots sucks, feels like meaningless, not iconic as album itself.
