When I posted my thoughts about the album after first listen, my exact words were:

"There is some obvious MJ, but… this is Christina Aguilera, if she made YOUR BODY (PART 2)

Shadow deserved pre-album single treatment, maybe even the lead, the hype from TCB film was too big to be ignored like that

Honestly, I think the album needed to end on Shadow of a Man or How Bad Do U Want Me. The ballads should be built into the album rather than bolted on.

BOG sounds like a Coldplay song in a way.

I would prefer PC having a music video over VIY.

TDD is timeless sounding.

ZB should have been the Wednesday song, not TDD.

Mayhem does not need a deluxe or remix album 

KFL can win a Grammy.

TDD is an odd one out of the era because its hated on by everyone. The ones who wanted a heavier track and got netflix pop and the pop lovers who think its too cheesy and gothy lol. I

There's definitely fans of the dark/rock ga and people do love what we got this era. You can just really see a decent chunk of the Dark/RockGa talk was just people not really understanding what that would look like as well.

It just goes to show that the majority of fans on this site are basic af, and annoyingly xenophobic to anything outside of typical pop.

This cover is far superior and cooler than the standard cover, and I wish it was the official album cover.

Yeah its that mindset of people that can't fathom music existing outside of their personal taste. 

My personal favourite example is when an older act releases a song that fits their discography but people omg its copying *insert new artist*.

Thank you. I never got the VIY hype, she's shrill af on that song and you can even hear her voice straining on the final chorus. Her recent acoustic live performance of it proves it's a gorgeous song, and could've been stylised so much better than the shoddy ABBA-esque pop rock album version we got.

Exactly! No critique on music is valid if it's purely based on personal taste. For such a diverse artist as Gaga, I'm genuinely shocked that so many of her fans are still so uneducated on music.

It's great that she tapped into so many cool alt genres for Mayhem, but it's still very pop coded. I personally think she could've taken it way further into alt styles but the fans would've hated it.

Yeah, I know it would have been very divisive in the fanbase but I wish we could hear the full collection of the Abra/Disease/Perfect Celebrity style work she has in the vault.
