It’s fine to say you don’t like the tone, but she def ain’t straining. Yeah I wouldn't say strained, but there's something in her voice that is not always pleasant when she does high notes. I showed my videos of the concert to my mom and she said she had a very shrilly voice. More reason why I like her voice on Joanne, it doesn't feel like it The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!

I'm sorry I know you guys love VIY and I am way too harsh about it cuz I really wanna like it (and it is a gorgeous song dgmw), but I just can't get behind it's styling personally, especially following from the likes of PC and Disease. I kinda wish she'd made it in the style of moody 80's Goth or something; a deeper key, darker, more atmospheric and hypnotic. But Gaga does have a habit of putting her darker, more emotive power ballads to very overtly joyful, almost giddy instrumentals which sometimes robs the songs of their power imo. BloodyVelvet 772
- DON’T CALL TONIGHT IS A GREAT SONG HELLO?!?! (And that bridge, guuuurl) - Blade of Grass is one of her best ballads - TDD is a great song - Even though the second part of the album is disco the album is still dark - It is Lady Gaga’s best album and overall better that BTW even though that album was already perfection. Truly the only thing I dislike about the album How did she go from Harlequin's great cover to MAYHEM's cover? I never understood why the cover is not Gaga as Mistress of Mayhem they haven't used her for the album cover nor the single covers... what a waste Edited January 12 by LG2008
MonsterPaws 2,743
The Dead Dance is a terrible song. Just kidding not terrible but definitely ruins what could have been a perfect run on the Deluxe version.
Electric Venom 44
A music video for Perfect Celebrity that transitions to Can’t Stop The High should’ve been on the cards.. I get why they chose the current cover conceptually speaking, but it's just so drab to me. A little bit of contrast would go a long way.
Mirrion Rizzons 12,080
Love drug is a good song, but it does not place high in my rankings at all. I just feel like any pop artist could have performed it, it lacks any gaga-isms
HausOfHarlow 383
I love Mayhem but my few quirks are: 1. It's so high energy and sound from Killah until Shadow of Man. Wish there was a slower tempo song somewhere in the middle of it. LoveDrug sorta fixes this issue, but even then it is still fairly uptempo. 2. Perfect Celebrity - oh how I wish we had the Mayhem Ball intro on the album. It's so beautiful!! My favorite song on the album - hot take. 3. I've never really loved Zombieboy - despite the praise it gets from fans. 4. I really loathe how songs that should be multiple words are merged as a single word. Zombieboy and LoveDrug - please give me a space between these two words! Zombie [SPACE] Boy and Love [SPACE] Drug. 5. Idk why I'm like this but I wish 'The' was dropped from The Dead Dance. 6. Happy Mistake absolutely deserves to be on the album, ideally as the album closer, in place of either BOG or DWAS. 7. Can't Stop the High deserved standard edition treatment. My second favorite song on the album. So glad we eventually got a digital/streaming release. 8. All the comparisons of HBDUWM to a Taylor Swift song - I totally see it and low-key I think Taylor should've been featured on the album. HOT TAKE INDEED lol 9. Kill for Love is such a slay for a bonus track. Though, I always get irked when the same album has song titles that are similar to closely related to each other (Killah, Kill for Love). I feel like everything from Disease to Zombieboy is very high energy. LoveDrug, How Bad Do U Want Me and Don't Call Tonight feel like a mid tempo "break" from that high energy and then it picks up again with Shadow of a Man, then the 3 ballads. I think this was a perfect way to balance it.

Skipping song here and there might happen, depends on the mood or moment. But... - I totally dispise the extremely low DR value of the official version. The mastering is pushed to the limit, which makes it a painful listening experience imho. There's a remaster out there by a Japanese engineer that is much better in this regard. The dynamics are more natural and the music is improved. This current trend of pushing everything into the red is completely unbearable. The only drawback is that this remaster was generated from multi-track high-res files of the first release, and the two bonus tracks and The Dead Dance do not currently exist in this resolution. Maybe they will in the future. Bruh is this what it is? Any time I load a Mayhem track into a program the wave form is basically one solid block from beginning to end I'm not a quality princess, I'll deadass stream LQ versions of songs sometimes to get that extra spit on the kicks and snares, but it is frustrating to try and mix something with the gold that's on Mayhem only to have your ears blown out 🥀
