There's a precedent for it.

After Germany was beaten in WWII there was a sweeping "denazification" effort.

Germans were exposed directly to the horrors of the concentration camps. Some were forced to bury victims. They were made to take personal responsibility as citizens who were complicit in the mass death.

Swastikas were removed and banned from public areas, Nazi books were burned, the media was scrubbed of all Nazi propaganda.

All Nazis were removed from government and judicial positions. Many Nazi leaders and influencers were taken to trial and punished harshly.

We can, should, but won't do the same thing to MAGA.

All MAGA officials need to be jailed starting with the decaying orange menace, assuming he’s even still alive by then

This is why I’m not too scared of this admin. They’re a bunch of incompetent morons that have no idea what they’re doing. Too stupid in order to be evil effectively, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to fight against them at every turn

Yeah unless they can win in 2028 with the replacement Trump (which I doubt) then the main problem will just be cleaning up the mess left behind and that will take a full 4 year term in itself.

I think the question we now have to ask, looking at the impact of Operation Paperclip in the US and the rise of AfD in Germany, is did it work?

Another cycle of republicans destroying everything around them while a democrat has to come back in after them and clean up their mess. It’s so infuriating

Well, it took 80 years for that particular type of right wing freakishness to re-establish itself in a weaker form so lowkey? Yeah, kinda.

It's certainly not a widely held belief that literal Nazism is just a difference of political opinion. "Nazis are bad" is basically a fact that nearly everyone acknowledges, even if they don't understand they're voting for the inbred cousin version of wimpy Hitler.

I feel like things are changing.

The American public is sick to death of both parties and a toxic mix of apathy and anger has blanketed the whole country.

Republicans are facing a civil war between like three different factions and there's no chance they'll keep them all satisfied once Trump leaves relevance (or d-words...praying for it) 'cause his gross personality is all that binds the right together.

Meanwhile, Democrats are starting to peel away from the DNC 'cause the DNC is basically addicted to losing. Most Democratic candidates for 2026 are being told to run their own campaigns, don't even speak to the DNC, cater to your districts, offer progressive alternatives, and pray for a miracle.

The Democratic party is also facing a reckoning. And while we aren't at each other's throats like the Republican factions are, there's a level of ineptitude and blatant stupidity in our camp that needs to be addressed.

I mean...they won't even release the report on the 2024 elections :saladga: that's literally what candidates need so they know what messages did or didn't go through and what methods of communication and volunteering were and weren't effective. And for what? 'Cause it's embarrassing that we lost to Trump again? Give me a f*cking break.

We'll keep losing until we acknowledge why, despite the facts, Republicans are generally seen as more trustworthy with the biggest issues for voters.

Honestly, I'd say they're suppressing it because it would blow up the moderate centrism myth they're trying to cling to.

Like do I think a more left wing candidate would have beat Trump? I think its 50/50.

But we all know this sitting on the fence bullshit is why the Dems continue to fail to capitalise on anti Trump sentiment.

I'd argue it only took until the mid 70s/early 80s. My personal view is that Regan/Thatcher was the starting point in the West (as well as the dictatorships of Latin America which actively had Nazi collaborators).

I think he became so politically successful is that he is exploiting the already present bigotry that many Americans already had before he ever ran for office.

I understand that it's comforting to believe that America was once a nation of true morals, and that once upon a time we did more good than bad on the global stage, and that Trump corrupted the spirit of our nation,  but that simply is not the case. America has always been this awful, Trump is simply exploiting that and making it even worse.

Just condemning  the trump admin and trump admin alone won't do any good in the long run. Another Trump like figure will just rise in Trumps place.

We have to  examine and address the conditions that make  racists, pedos, misogynists etc so comfortable in the Trump absent and Trump present America.

The Democrat party is full of a bunch of spineless losers who think they should just stay silent so that Trump can implode on his own. The big issue with this strategy is that if you don’t prop up an actual choice against Trump then people will just follow Trump 2.0 because you haven’t shown how you are the better alternative. You actually have to speak up and FIGHT for what you believe in, especially when that is something your own constituents are demanding from you.

Somehow the Democrat party was polling lower than Trump in 2025… the only way that is possible is if you are some of the biggest most incompetent morons to have ever graced American politics.

Apparently, polls consistently show a moderate Democrat is needed to win the presidency but progressive candidates sweep seats in state governments and congress.

Congress is where the laws are written and the government's money is (mostly) controlled anyway so if that's the case, fine. Let's continue to hire Joe Bidens to sit in the oval office and sign the bills passed by a mob of AOCs and Omars.

Well...idk anything about South America really oop. Didn't the Nazis flee to Argentina or something? It'd make sense why the rot spread there while Europe was being cleansed.

Yeah :rip:

'Cause just like Trump is holding the GOP together, being "the opposition to Trump" is the only reason Democrats are about to sweep the midterms.

The man won't live forever.
