One of her most hidden and defining bodies of work in her discography, I relistened to this album recently and wow! The songs are so melodic and romantic, from the first detail to the last. Each string, each instrument has a purpose.

It may take longer to grasp its flow and understand the song structures and hooks, but once it clicks you realise is a cohesive, aesthethically perfect almost, and skipless (!) record. Melancholic, elegant, slowburning, full of stunning prechoruses (Terrence Loves You gives me chills).

The singles, from High By the Beach to Music To Watch Boys To and were great and replayable, while the deep cuts like Honeymoon and Art Deco were mysterious and captivating in a less attention-grabbing way. The music choices, the album photoshoot, the imagery etc were immaculate and Lana exemplifying peak artistry. :diane:

Do you agree? When was the last time you listened to this masterpiece? :lana:

I 100% agreed and have thought that this was her best album for years not that I necessary to listen to it the most anymore bc I think that might be BB Chemtrails or Ocean Blvd nowadays but HM is always gonna be that girl and a CLASSIC.

This album is so good that I can listen to it as just instrumentals and it’s still as good as with her voice/the lyrics.

Honeymoon was so underrated at the time it came out, I know Ultraviolence was incredibly adored by the fan base including myself to the point that Honeymoon felt like a disappointment but I revisit Honeymoon a lot more often than UV nowadays

They way I remember it- actually both Ultraviolence and Honeymoon underwhelmed fans. Compared with the instantly catchy style of Born To Die, Ultraviolence was called too rock, while Honeymoon was too slow. Is is my perception that they became cult favorites with time.

However, to me both are masterpieces and aged incredibly. :woohoo:

Spoiler

Imma say it though, unlike UV and Honeymoon NFR did not get better. :sis::sis::sis:

I love Honeymoon so much. Although I was a fan of Born to Die, Ultraviolence into Honeymoon into Lust For Life is one of my favorite album runs. I love each three of those albums so much and they each offer something so unique compared to the rest of her discography for me and fill me with nostalgia. But Honeymoon in particular is such a high art album to me, and a classic.

I'm currently listening for the first time in a looooong time and yeah this album is as great as I remember. Not a boring second even on an album with rather slow-tempo long songs
