Defmix100 6,521
I love MJH but hate the bridge, especially the rich as piss line don't love Killah but when the drums start building more at the end, especially live it's awesome (and how live they repeat that bass synth sound before the end kicks back in)
Defmix100 6,521
Also there's a few songs like Alice and Scheiße where they cut the final chorus' repeating when the beat comes back and just have the post chorus'
Tranquil 116
The intro guitar segment of Aura could have been it's own interlude song. I always skip the guitar intro I love Garden of Eden but the lyrical content of the second verse could have been sexier Personally, Babylon starts to feel repetitive once I get to the second chorus. It needed a bridge Sour Candy is a cute little fun song but the collab between Gaga/Blackpink needed a more explosive/electric song. Sour Candy is not a good representation of their discography. Fashion! is such a good song but we needed the Rupaul version and NOT the Will.i.am version Edited Thursday at 05:46 PM by Tranquil

It’s my favorite (I don’t get why people hate it) but I agree that Elton isn’t needed and he really didn’t add anything to the song. If the album had a more electroclash aesthetic, I honestly think it’d be top tier for me. Give me guitars, give me live feeling drums, give me gritty unhinged vocals! Honestly a Goldfrapp/Fischerspooner approach to EDM would have made that album unbeatable.

This is my gripe with ARTPOP, the fans gas this album up as experimental, and innovative, and on of her best bodies of work, but it was dead on arrival and sound dated with everything else out at the time. It’s my least favorite unfortunately. I wish the album actually leaned into the experimentation, was more aggressive, was gritty and unhinged. I wouldve loved the electroclash feel you mentioned. Maybe some Fisherspooner, Goldfrapp, Peaches, LCD Soundsystem, even some Ladytron vibes. Ultimately, I just think I was sold a fantasy with the sound at the Swinefest that didn’t really materialize with the final product. MOT 3,288
Diamond Heart when it gets going is a great rock song, I love it, but the intro is weak, and the fact that that's the intro to the whole album is irritating. I'm not usually that pushed about lyrics (which is just as well because Gaga has some clunkies), and I do really like Gypsy, but 'honey it's simple it's the way that you love and treat your mother' ??? Oh Gawd.

hamartia 1,705
This is going to sound shady, but I feel like whenever Gaga goes "this song only took 10 minutes to write!" it's like, girl.... we can tell Edited Thursday at 08:54 PM by hamartia
