This is depressing news. Netflix shouldn’t be able to own such a large and already monopolistic company. We’re going to see more content slop that looks like it was shot with a Vaseline CGI filter, and people will have less opportunity to see movies in the theater due to Netflix’s outright hostility to the theater going experience. Movie release windows will be shorter to get us to just stay and watch “content” at home. It was already a pain trying to see Frankenstein in theaters, never mind trying to find a theater near me playing Wake Up Dead Man. I can’t fathom why WBD would want to sell when they literally won the summer box office with a slate of originals AND reboots/sequels. This is a very depressing development, and I fear what this means for movie theaters and cinema culture in general.

They could have mini screen rooms designed as living rooms where you sit on couches. These rooms needs to be booked & you can choose before hand what is shown. Like a VIP experience type thing.

This is sarcasm right?

Yeah I can totally see it, I think it would be a hit if they could pull off more of an experience type vibe than just a Netflix only cinema.

You've set my creative part of my brain off now :ladyhaha:

Yeah im over it. We are seeing the death of cinema and its sad. Everyone loves to boast about how great it is to watch movies at home - no its boring and most people just wanna scroll their phones the whole time. Others enjoy the art of film and seeing it on a big screen (no your 75-115" screen isnt big) with a great sound system (no - your sound bar doesn't compare) is a huge difference.

Like stated - i couldn't even see the new Knives Out film and Frankenstein was nowhere to be found. They sure did hop on the train for their Stranger Things ending tho - and its excluded from the monthly subscriptions like A-List so they obviously care about money.

Streaming needs to stay in its own lane.

I guess you could say it's a cinema/hotel room hybrid. In my head they're a day out/VIP experience. I'm thinking Netflix themed rooms, made to order food, alcoholic beverages, photo opportunity, etc. A place you might hire out for a birthday or special occasion.

Might sound a little silly but people have spent money on stranger things, pardon the pun :ladyhaha:
