Funny to think it was pitched for Harlequin / the soundtrack and not Mayhem. I wonder if she switched it with Happy Mistake

Joker 2 was **** but has a few silver linings. It clearly had a positive influence on Gaga's headspace going into Mayhem, we got Happy Mistake out of Harlequin, DWAS was a massive hit that did wonders for her overall streaming power and Gaga wasn't blamed for Joker 2 anyway since the critics agree her acting was good and she had been underused.

True for critics but comic fans and straight men does not think the same.

I’m willing to bet those two were each pitched for either project fs

Really? I watched a bunch of Youtube reviews at the time of Joker 2 release and even right wingers like Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic said she did a solid job. The comics subreddits seem to echo the same opinion generally.

REALITY

So I guess the Joker similarities were purposeful. I remember a lot of people being confused about whether or not it was a song for the movie because the title "Die With A Smile" definitely evokes that kind of imagery. Also, the retro aesthetic was kinda similar to Joker's.

These crowds were saying that even before the movie was out tho so we were not winning them anyway...

Not like we need them. :firega:
