She charges over 500 for tickets. In this economy, that is a huge expense. People who fork out the money have a right to a quality show.

Imagine spending months rehearsing for a show and then getting ripped to shreds by a bunch of twitter f*gs who weren't even there...  Yes it's intense, but the initial comments are also out of place. She's fighting fire with fire, which may not be the most productive thing to do but it's well deserved IMO.

12 costume changes /= a quality show

She sings live, she sounds great, she's an amazing dancer and the set is good. The value of a show does not lie solely in the production and while I do agree that the tickets are expensive that's a problem with the industry at large. I also do not see anyone going on Twitter rants about Benson Boone’s ugly jumpsuits; the main reaction to his tour was people being surprised that he could actually sing, which shows how low the bar is for male performers. The expectations placed on female pop stars are completely unreasonable, and there is a clear layer of misogyny in the way people judge them.

people always demand women have so much decorum for the enormous degrees of sh*t they have to take from such grubby and, frankly, awful people. i wouldnt say i generally like her demeanor (the sorta edge-lord-y thing is not my vibe), but i think she's justified here. if you don't like it, don't go. simple as that. but it looks like she's putting on a pretty good show all the same.

I think there's just a certain level of expectation from big pop acts doing big venues and asking for a substantial amount of money for a ticket, which seems to be the case here. I haven't seen anything and am only reacting from what I'm reading here, but if you're asked to pay $250 for a pop show, I don't blame people for expecting to see a freaking pop show.

To be fair it's about going too much against audience's expectations too.

We can learn the lesson from Joker: Folie a Deux. Sometimes just because the artist has a bold vision doesn't mean it's accessible enough. Ultimately there is always an audience, a perceiver of the art to consider.

I feel like this would've been less problematic if it was Billie Eilish and Lorde too. Maybe it's because of the genre/the consistency of the marketing of her pesona.

It’s not really a men vs women issue…

Gaga and Doja are known for their costumes and fashion so the fans expect that. Drake is not known for his fashion or style, he never has been. He literally did a music video in a winter jacket and jeans…

That said, there might some misogyny at play here but on the other side we have artists like Lana or Lorde that don’t really dress up for shows and no one bats an eye because they aren’t know for their style.

ok i scrolled thru a youtube video and it is pretty starkly different from her peers because it's the same stage and everything the whole time. that said it's a very cool stage and the lighting is amazing and there are even fireworks so I'm sure it would be fun lol
