Whatever my personal opinion of Taylors music might be, she undeniably has become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. And from what I've read online, she is doing quite a bit of charity work, which I applaud her for. Congratulations!

Chartmaster has been falsely claiming this for like two years and is not an accurate source. Madonna remains the best selling female artist according to official music certifications. That being said, Taylor will pass her eventually which means precisely nothing in terms of legacy/impact. Madonna's acomplishments happened in the pre streaming era so it's not fair to make comparisons to current artists anyway.

Good for her, but honestly Madonna legit got the majority of her sales through ACTUAL purchases of vinyls, CDs, people queuing up outside of record stores to buy her music AND she pushed boundaries- and this is coming from somebody that doesn’t even REALLY like her music outside of COADF.

Taylor’s kinda feels cheap because of 1) streaming and 2) variants with legit one take voice memos with a half written song and mumbling

But anyway there have been many huge artists over the decades even if u narrow it down specifically to females. Making top 10 is very difficult

I was upset in the past seeing someone like Katy dominate the charts, but it doesnt bother me seeing someone like Taylor (who I really dislike) ruling the charts, because atleast shes talented.

Yeah it does, and I believe that anyone who surpasses MADONNA of all people in 2025 can’t do it in pure sales. Taylor however is notorious for ripping off her fans lol I mean she re-recorded almost all her discography because she claimed she couldn’t get her masters and then stopped at the last hurdle because turns out she could and probably could’ve bought them YEARS ago lol

At least 60% of her sales are basically from duplicated songs atp
