See this is all it takes. Lyrics don’t need to be majorly complex or poetic to make you feel something. I can actually feel the heartbreak and wanting for the relationship she had and the part with the daisy was so cute and touching. I still don’t like the song lmaooo but miles better than anything on 143 and I appreciate the heart. I still think this is the right direction for her. Wish she would lean even more into her roots

horrible song, her voice here sounds like nails on a chalkboard

Pot meet kettle (because Taylor’s vocals are also horrific), but agreed.

Yeah, this is rough and painfully generic, but I can’t say I expected more.

The song is kind of good vibes, in an early 2000s pop rock way.

Just some thoughts on the single cover ... It's a beauty shot with scratches on her face. I feel like Katy can only do pretty or camp.

The video through. Less said better.

It's so... tin-y. I wonder how/if she's going to manage this live.

The production is like those American Idol performance studio tracks from the late 2000s. Not really rock or pop, very adult contemporary. The overall vibe is so confusing. I'm shocked that there's money behind this and that it's getting single treatment.

She finally found the come back Song

The chorus. Lets Say It works lol

I didn't even realize the chorus was the chorus until she was halfway into the second verse. I kept thinking 'hmmm maybe the chorus will pick up or have some impact' and then that turned into 'oh wow... that was the chorus'

"bandaids" real producers revealed. Check the Spotify credits.

NO Andrew Watt & NO Max Martin.

Justin Tranter & 3 other names are the official producers.

Is it better than any song on 143? Probably. It's a little catchy, but I just can't get over the lazy writing:

"It's not what you did, it's what you didn't"

"We were perfect 'till we weren't"

"If I had to do it all over again / I would still do it all over again"

Like that last line is one of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. The "Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow" part just screams Swift in the 2010s, so late to the party that it caused an auditory cringe. I can feel her hesitancy to explore and experiment, which is a shame because she's made some all-time pop songs.

Still, the cover to this single is a 10/10 and one of the best visuals I've seen from her in years. She looks powerful!
