What if gaga had released BTW in 2012 or late 2011 instead of february 2011?

On the other hand, people seemed to be pushing in a more alternative direction from 2012 onwards (I think of Lorde's 'Pure Heroine', Frank Ocean's 'Channel Orange'...even Beyonce's self titled). BTW was pop, but a slightly different pop so maybe you're right about 2012 being better for BTW. The downside is I cant see ARTPOP in 2014, so it would have been a quicker turnaround between BTW and ARTPOP which I'm not sure would have worked.

Gaga was so overexposed during the end of 2010 -early 2011 she really needed a break! She did too much too soon and the public was feeling it when Judas was paid dust. Girl needed to take at least a one month break before starting a new era. This is How it should’ve gone down. 
 

May 2011- she finishes the Monster Ball Tour. She says her new álbum will be released “soon”. 
 

June 2011- She surpsrise drops the title track of the álbum, BORN THIS WAY, as the 1st single. She’s everywhere during the summer. The MV would be a little diferent too. VMA’s performance = grammys performance with the egg.

2. Marry The Night ( September 2011) the fall/ winter bop that deserved #1!!!

3,4. The Edge of Glory + You And I (December/ NYE 2011) - she performs TEOG at the 2012 grammys as a tribute to Whitney Houston. 

5. Judas (April 2012 ) - riskier video and its still Holy Week. 

STARTS the BTWBT in May 2012

6. Heavy Metal Lover (July 2012) - messy video with Gaga and Kesha with dirt and glitter and slime destroying a club. Final single.
