Was The Dead Dance a Mistake?

After all the surprise segments and creative performances Gaga did for the song, many of us were hoping Halloween was going to be the day when The Dead Dance explodes and finally gets its wings and begins its cultural dominance. However, the dead dance didn't even go top 50 on Spotify yesterday and in fact, 3 Gaga compositions outshined it.

#96 (+69) The Dead Dance - 1,752,986

Gaga didn't do a follow-up to Abracadabra from the main album because she was holding off for this song. Would we have been better off with Garden of Eden or How Bad Do You Want Me becoming a single instead?

Yaaaas Gaga

No. If anything it's a smart move because the song will no doubt feature on the Halloween playlists each year. Maybe Gaga will do a Christmas song at some point as well.

Yes, it's one of her worst singles - up there with Stupid Love and The Cure.

Borderline offensive to mention it in the same sentence as The Cure.

The Dead Dance is the superior and BETTER version of "Heads will roll" by the yeah yeah yeahs

So no, it was not a mistake. The GP is just tasteless

Love both songs, but agree that the GP is tasteless

no!!!

we have to accept and realize we are in a new age the big explosive debuts aren’t where the money is at

its in the legs, it’s the fact a song is still supplementing an album 10 years it’s senior

it’s how current pop stars are establishing dominance isn’t the number on the chart per se but how long ur staying on it’s why billboard is making dumb rules left and right

like imagine if dwas was still on the charts it would deff be top 50 if not top 30 like by the time we start coming up on her next release (+3 years)

i think gaga is rly smart on capitalizing on halloween
